COMPELLING is far too mild a word to describe the impact of this document. It is God's call come alive in a woman who dared listen. "Somebody's calling my name" is an old spiritual that forecasts her experience. A real faith-based adventure that is rooted in love is launched! Faith without love cannot explode in such action. 1 Corinthians 13.1-3. HEART for Africa is so appropriate - from the heart of God to the heart and soul of Janine to hearts that will listen all over the world.

Janine seems to ask the question once asked by the prophet Elisha; "Is it well with you?" Janine's heart cry seems to say; "NO, it is not well with me." I believe you will hear a deep cry and heart beat for the poor through the pages of this book. My prayer is that you read through this book and respond to this same question of Elisha: "Is it well with you?" So fasten your seat belt and be blessed by this book!

It's a unique journey of the heart, and it's one our long-time friend Janine Maxwell and her family have been on for the last few years. From the fast-paced, daily-dollar grind of a successful international business to the heart-wrenching hopelessness in the eyes of a dying African orphan, this book will inspire you to take a deep, fresh look at what God considers truly valuable.

God spoke, Janine heard, and obedience was realized. This is an adventure in not knowing, but trusting, not seeing, but believing. This is the journey of a family willing to forsake the success and comforts of this world for a much greater prize. Faith, encouragement, and courage will be imparted to those who are blessed to have read this story.

This is a must-read book that illustrates in most graphic form the depth and breadth of the crisis facing many children in Africa. The book is so thought provoking and inspirational that it will not only make every person stop, think, and even cry, but also help them to develop a personal mission in life. The book is indeed a wake-up call to all of us who have a dream to do something bigger than ourselves. Janine has shown absolute honesty and faith for those children who opened their hearts to her, and made her a powerful conduit in helping and changing their lives. She has touched and challenged every aspect of our lives. This book will impact your life forever by showing you how to change the outcome of any event, simply by changing your response to it.

It is absolutely not okay with me either! Janine's story tells the plight of the African orphans and gives hope that one person can make a difference.

An excellent piece of writing: creatively narrated and utterly captivating! Janine has a deep passion to touch Africa for Jesus and shows it in these pages. I recommend this publication to all who wish to see Africa from an "out of the box" perspective.

I have been to the AIDS orphanages in the worst slums of Africa. I'm sure hell is worse, but not by much. The difference is that hell is separation from God and yet, God is in Africa giving hope to the hopeless. You cannot see this and do nothing. The Spirit of the Lord within you will not allow it. It's not okay with me either.

For most of us the ills of far away Africa are unfathomable. Wars, pestilence, and disease seem to keep the Dark Continent dark. Without real, human connections, Africa tends to remain a hopeless abstraction. Janine Maxwell illuminates the darkness, and brings hope in reminding us of our human connections and responsibilities. She puts faces on the suffering, changing the abstract to the tangible. She forces us to say; 'No! It's NOT okay with me!'

Reading Janine Maxwell's book during the time that my own daughter is working with the orphans of AIDS victims in an African medical clinic has definitely impacted my life. This book will touch you to the core of your soul and cause you to say, "It's not okay with me!" God bless Janine Maxwell for shining another light on the immense problems that are occurring in Africa. May God cause each of us to ask "What can I do to help?"

This up-close look at the life of Janine and Ian will challenge everyday business people to consider how God might use their business skills to tackle some of the big giants in society. Beyond this, it will stir your heart with compassion for real kids with names and faces whom God used to give Janine a heart shaped like Africa. I recommend the book, and I commend the love from which it springs.

I went on a Heart for Africa trip hoping to change lives and the first life to be changed was my own. God wants to use us to be His hands and feet in Africa. Go and be transformed.
